Superintendent

Position Summary:

Supervise & coordinate activities of subcontractors engaged in one or more crafts at the job site. Responsible for maintaining project safety and schedule while remaining within initial project scope and budget. Proposing solutions as challenges occur while upholding MB Haynes’ promise of quality, commitment and character in all that we do. Focus on teamwork, concentrate on safety and quality of work and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Helps Project Manager with estimating and developing project schedules
  • Studies project schedules to accurately plan and supervise subcontractors and direct labor to complete projects on schedule
  • Be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project schedule
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines & equipment
  • Recommends measure to improve production and improve overall project schedule
  • Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute his job duties effectively and efficiently
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers or subcontractors to achieve work goal
  • Interprets company policies to workers or subcontractors & enforces safety regulations
  • May supervise more than one site simultaneously
  • May train new workers
  • Maintains time & production records
  • May estimate, requisition, & inspect materials
  • May confer with other supervises to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • May set up equipment & machines
  • Keep daily logs of site activities

Requirements:

  • Supervising workers engaged in several crafts, is required to possess general knowledge of the activities involved
  • Hospital and institutional experience a plus
