Position Summary:

Must live or be willing to relocate to within a one hour radius of MB Haynes Corporation's main office in Asheville, NC. In this entry level construction role, you will work under the direct supervision of a qualified Pipe Welder. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting in securing components together to ensure accurate welds that do not change the measurements of the component and will be able to withstand various types of steam, hot water, lubricants, sprinkling and industrial processing systems.

While the primary duty of this position is assisting the Pipe Welder, Haynes Industrial is an industrial maintenance company - our craftsman must work in multiple disciplines for our industrial customers. Our people become skilled multi-craftsman.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in securing of parts in position for welding.
• Assist in the preparation of material for welding by cutting or grinding using pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder.
• Set material in stands, racks, hoists, etc. for welding.
• Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc or gas welding equipment.
• Assist in the repairing of products by dismantling, straightening and reshaping.
• Reassemble parts using cutting torch, straightening press and hand tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Requirements:

• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
• Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the job site, inspectors, customer and the public.
• Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
• Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
• Have a basic knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage and welding techniques.

• Work is primarily performed both indoor and outdoor environments in all/extreme weather conditions.
